A building of great stature.

Picture
The school hall is an impressive example of contemporary ecologically friendly architecture. It was designed by the award winning Brisbane architect Richard Kirk.
The school hall has been a most welcome addition to the site. Prior to having this most impressive building many of the school's most important occasions were conducted either in spaces that could accommodate the entire school, such as the library, or in the case of the community coming to visit, outside at the peril of the weather. Speech nights for example have been a tradition of the school since its beginnings at Highgate Hill and continued to the larger site at Acacia Ridge in 1998. On these warm summer evenings the chance to spend a night under the stars with the children and families was wonderful. However, should the summer skies open up and let forth a torrential seasonal storm, the night would quickly turn to one where we dreamed of one day having a school hall. Thanks to the Economic Stimulus Plan, that dream came true quicker than we had imagined.

Speech Day 2013. The hall is ready and adorned with the Modern Ochres Exhibition which always opens the night before.

The school hall is available for hire by interested community groups

The hall has a full sized basketball court with retractable basketball hoops. Markings on the court surface and in-floor holes also allow the court to be fitted to play netball and volley ball.
The hall has been designed, as have all of the new school facilities, with the environment in mind. The wall of glass doors can be raised electronically to open the entire wall. Louvres on the opposite side similarly open electronically to allow great natural ventilation.

This facility has been the venue for ceremonies, presentations, openings, art exhibitions, Speech Day presentations, assemblies, school sports, inter school sports and most any occasions that requires the entire school to gather
