The Murri School Dance Troupe
The Murri School has had its own dance troupe for many years now. A team of children from all classes are involved in learning and performing the art of traditional and contemporary song and dance. There is much pride associated in performance that draws large numbers of students to become active through dance. Primary students participate in formal dance classes as part of their education in the Arts curriculum. Secondary students who exhibit growth and potential to go further, lead the younger members and in doing so continue the passing of this knowledge.
The Murri school Dance Troupe is in high demand and has performed on a number of occasions in and around the Brisbane area. The troupe is also busy with school related events such as NAIDOC Week, Sorry Day, Speech Day, for the launch of significant projects and initiatives or in appreciation of special guests to the school. |
