Good Afternoon Families,
Well, it looks as if we start the new school year in very similar fashion to the last one! You will be aware by now that on the 9th of January 2022 the Premier announced that there will be a delay to the school year for most students. Onsite learning will now commence on the 7th of February. Remote learning for Years 11 and 12 students will commence from Monday the 31st of January. Year 11 and 12 Students will be contacted by their teachers to inform them of how their learning will take place. The school year may be extended at the end of the year in December, however this will be confirmed in the coming weeks. We will have a skeleton staff on-site. However, we do not want to unnecessarily put our dedicated staff at risk, nor our children or community, so please only visit the site as an absolute last resort. In line with Mandated Directions all Murri School staff will be double vaccinated as well as all visitors, delivery drivers and contractors. Also, as per Queensland Health Regulations children under 12 years do not have to wear a mask. All high school students must always carry and wear a mask unless seated or where they can maintain physical distancing. All staff will be wearing masks unless they can maintain 1.5m social distancing. The safety of our community is our first priority, so we want to remind families of the importance of explicitly following the direction of Queensland Health. Full information about COVID-19 and future updates can be found at: · The Queensland Health website: www.health.qld.gov.au/ We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops and provide you with updates via Facebook, our school website and email. Stay Safe, The Murri School Team |
